Manchester City has set its sights on Roma midfielder Manu Kone as a top target to strengthen their midfield. The club, which has seen departures of Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders, is considering a fee between €50m and €60m. Kone, the 25-year-old French international, was previously linked with Manchester United but failed to complete a transfer. Roma, who have a contract with Kone until June 2029, is reportedly open to a summer move but demands a suitable fee.

Midfield overhaul plan

City has undergone a significant reshuffle in their midfield following Rodri's move to Barcelona and Reijnders' permanent transfer to Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia. The two departures generated a combined total of €137.5m, including performance bonuses, leaving the club with substantial funds to reinforce their central options.

Roma's valuation

Kone, who previously played for Toulouse before joining Roma, is valued between €50m and €60m. The Italian club, while bound to Kone until 2029, appears willing to let him go in the summer if a deal is reached. The fee requested is seen as accessible for City, which has bolstered its transfer budget through recent player sales.
