AS Roma are pushing to sign Real Madrid's Brazilian forward Endrick on loan in January, with the player having approved the move. The 20-year-old, who has played just four minutes this season, sees a switch to the Italian capital as a route back to regular football.

Roma's sporting director Tony D'Amico has been working on the deal for several months and views the attacker as a key target. "Endrick is a priority for January, capable of adding quality, talent and prospect to the attack of Gasperini," D'Amico said. The club favours a loan with an option to buy. The player's father and his compatriot Wesley, who is thriving at Roma, are also keen on the transfer.

Currently sitting top of Serie A with 13 points, Roma are looking to add more dynamism to an attack that has scored 14 goals so far. Their next fixture is away to Como on October 11th.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti recently spoke about the challenges facing young Brazilian players. "The problem with Brazilian lads is that they don't improve because they don't play," Ancelotti stated. "They arrive at big clubs at 18 and don't find space. Without playing they cannot progress." This sentiment echoes Endrick's own frustration, though he regained confidence by scoring for Brazil against Australia. Madrid may sanction a loan to prevent his talent from stagnating.
